so this instax holds a special place in my heart. i had just told frida about this project and, being sunday and we were out to play either sequence, stop or any other card game with their lovely aunt and family, we took the instax with us. now that i mentioned it, this instax has a twin sister. we took two photos that night: one stayed behind, being displayed beautifully amongst many countries’ magnet souvenirs on the fridge’s door and the other one, the one that i scanned for this post, remains with frida.
there aren’t many pictures of this type of my family-in-law and this one depicts exactly how those sunday nights tend to go: a lot of light-hearted conversation, brownie (the dog you see there) being over-protective of andrea, and all in all, a great family time with dinner followed by andrea or aunt chiquis completely obliterating us at any game of choice.
keep in mind, these were my first two instax being taken with timer so they look immaculate in definition as they weren’t subject to my shaking pulse when trying to stay put.
i am grateful for these nights, where we just spent hours into the night by the end of the week getting all up to speed and into the challenges of the following week. as you could imagine, dear reader, whenever family meets, multiple subjects arise in the conversation after dinner; we’ve discussed politics (not a big fan), the latest music festivals, the forgotten places in our hometown, taylor swift, xmas plans, travel anecdotes… you name it. treasure those moments, simple as they might seem, they’d never failed to refill my hopes for the future.
fyi, andrea and i are still undefeated in sequence and i’ve done pretty good myself on blackjack, so not at all incompetent in card games. don’t get the wrong idea!
