my best friend's wedding
my best friend's wedding
this was the coldest day of the year. picture it… it’s xmas eve-eve, the winds are blowing cold, no sun whatsoever and there was only one task at hand as pablo and i were taking felipe to a face massage: avoid. red. marks. on. face. easily done. little did we know, multiple things were going to happen hours before the wedding (thankfully, red marks weren’t the case, at least not in felipe’s face).
i took on the task of picking everyone up and driving us to the spa. we were there for 2 hours while everyone else beside us was getting ready for the big night. instructions were followed thoroughly by the masseuses and the entire process was a breeze. we were all happy and satisfied with the results. that is, of course, until i burned my finger, got a flat tire and were late on delivering the groom.
but we only remember the good times!
karla and felipe asked me to give the toast which i of course wrote until the very last hours even though they asked me almost a year prior. anyways, it moved people to tears, so i’m counting it as a success. being there, seeing them dance with their parents, with each other and simply celebrating their love is definitely a core memory and a canonical event in our little group. oh yeah, the photo. looks amazing, right? well, this particular effect is brought to you by my brother adrian who also attended the wedding as well as much of my family. in it, you were supposed to see frida with her beautiful dress, me tux-suited-up and our first xmas tree. once again, picture it!
let these moments never leave our memories. i am deeply grateful we all had the chance to be with karla and felipe on such a charming and wintery december night.
