las salinas, sinaloa
las salinas, sinaloa
second post about water and a spot that i like. this time around, it is my sister-in-law maty’s favorite spot actually. much like the following post, this is somewhere in the state of sinaloa in mexico. ‘twas my first time visiting it and i must confess, it is a lovely place.
now, you’ll excuse me, dear reader, but i know next to nothing about this beach and while i am trained in fast and effective google search, i couldn’t find anything besides that in the municipality that las salinas is located, there are only 9 inhabitants. you read that right, 9. of course, this is just a portion of the whole picture, given that ahome is not exactly a community on its own. full disclaimer, i could probably be bullshitting this information. i’d happily obliged and correct all of this given the proper context from someone (ahem, maty) that knows better.
anyhow… just look at this place. a small breach between two tall grassy hills. you can’t really see that much in the instax. it was probably just one or two meters above sea level as we struggled down this sandhill-ish point we where in. the sea has reclaimed part of many houses near the shore. one particularly from my sister-in-law’s family that it’s half destroyed with plenty of debris, all rusty and forgotten, which makes for a perfect set for a music video or a trendy photo. wouldn’t i know something about the latter.
getting to know this place shed more light into the picture i have of maty and i wholeheartedly appreciate her and her family for bringing us there and showing us around.
